Update on my Princess

Mommy has been overloaded. Mainly due to chemo brain, the moves, and now homeschooling!
My beautiful Emily is now NINE! Yikes! Such a sweet blessing she is. I'm fairly certain she will be taking over this blog soon.
The big news in her world this month is that she is having a major back surgery. (VEPTR rods being placed in the back to help correct some of the curve - 118 degrees. ouch.)
Please keep her in your prayers for a successful surgery, successful outcome, NO infection, and for the pain to be controlled.
Thank you

(dictated by daddy)

I had a good day today. At recess I played with the crayola rake thing. It is something that has 5 pieces of chalk at the end and you can draw with it all around and you can even do one at a time or how many you want, but you can do 5 if you want to do all of them. I drew lots of rainbow things, big and small, and I drew lines with them.

I had nachos with cheese, jello, chocolate milk and thats all I had for lunch. I forgot my silverware so I just drank the milk without the straw, I ate the nachos with my hands and I didn't eat the jello.

There was one thing that wasn't fun and it was really scary. Caroline is my classmate who sits next to me at my desk. She fell down backwards and her leg was hurting. She was sitting down and she didn't know that she was going to flip over and I was listening to the teacher and I heard a noise and then Caroline fell over onto her back. She is okay, her mom is a nurse at a different place (not at the school). She got to wheel in a wheelchair on her way back from the nurses office, just like me, that was pretty cool.

After school we got snow cones from Snow Monkey. Daniel wanted rootbeer but I wanted princeses, so we made a deal... Daniel got rootbeer and I got blood guts and eyeballs which is a type of snow cone.

I thought when I heard the back door, one of my baby sitters was coming but it was my dad. I was watching Mr Rogers Neighborhood on PBSKids.org. My mom liked seeing the Mr Rogers movies because she watched it when she was a kid. When they made the yellow crayons and when they made the balls and when the made the fortune cookies, mom said they were here favorite ones to watch.

My dad told me I had to write a story and then we were sitting down and eating our dinner and my dad was typing my story for me and I hope he can do that every time I write so my hands don't get tired.

I had grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for dinner. The sandwiches are really good to eat, because I really like cheese and I really like grilled cheese sandwiches. Daddy and mommy make the best sandwiches.

Hope everyone else had a great day.

2nd Grade!!

I am SO excited to be in the SECOND grade!
I am at a new school this year and have already met two good friends.
My teacher is great and she has so many fun activities for me to do at recess.
Being in a wheelchair, I cannot access the playground, so she has found all sorts of alternatives so I can still be active with the other kids in my class. My favorite so far has been the Chalk Rake! The playground area is VERY colorful from all of the fun I had yesterday.

My mom is joining a writer's group and I asked her what she was going to write about. She told me one of her books was going to be about me.
I asked that she write about me being a princess. I can't wait for her to start that book!

I have several options for after school activities, it is tough to choose.
Ballet? Art? Piano? Girl Scouts? Sports?
Mom wants me to wait to take up Tennis and Golf again until the weather cools down! I have therapy three days a week right now, but we are trying to condense it it down to two. Mom says I can pick two extra activities.
How am I to decide?? I'll keep you posted =)

I included a picture of me and Mom on the first day of school.

Talk to you again soon!

Update

I'm sorry my Mom and I have not been on top of my blog.
It has been a crazy summer and Mom hasn't been feeling very well.
I had a great school break - I took golf and tennis lessons, had both sets of grandparents visit, and even attended my BFF's birthday party!
Mom still hasn't done my birthday party! We might have to celebrate year seven and eight together. We'll see

I have finally grown in length and in shoe size! Yippee! I spent a week in the hospital doing testing, etc and we learned a lot about my feeding issues and GI problems.

My surgery scheduled for August has been postponed for 2010.

I am hoping to start piano and art classes in the fall, but right now my main project is coming up with a new 'handshake' for my friends and I. =)

This is the Life!

Tiaras, tutus, ballet class, chapter books, and chocolate.
These are a few of my favorite things!
I am in first grade and an excellent reader. My mom says I 'eat' books and that we need to take more trips to the library!
I have a little brother that I enjoy most of the time, but he can also drive me crazy.
I love to play games. Board games with my mom. Video games with my dad. The LEGO series on the XBOX is my favorite. Followed closely by just about anything on the wii!
If it is pink or purple I'm going to wear it. If it is Cinderella or Hannah Montana I'm going to want it.
My favorite foods are Macaroni and Cheese and almost anything with chocolate in it. Chocolate milk, hot chocolate, chocolate shakes, chocolate ice cream, chocolate chips, Hershey kisses... You get the idea.
I can't wait to tell you more about myself and to keep you informed on all of the fabulous things I am up to!
